Tapani Siirtola on varmistunut The Beautiful Road to Albinbam -elokuvan säveltäjäksi. Siirtola tunnetaan muun muassa kansainvälisestikin tunnetun sci-fi parodian Star Wreckin säveltäjänä. Hän on säveltänyt myös ensi vuonna ensi-iltansa saavan Rautataivas -elokuvan teasermusiikin. The Beautiful Road to Albinbam on Siirtolan ensimmäinen sävellystyö kokoillan draamaelokuvassa.

Inspiration Films on erittäin innoissaan saadessaan mukaan ammattisäveltäjän tuotantoon.

Elokuvan äänimiksauksen tulee tekemään tamperelainen äänialaan erikoistunut studio Sound Reel. Tapani Siirtola on studion leivissä.

Tällä hetkellä elokuva on editoinniltaan lähes valmis ja on Siirtolan sävellettävänä. Sen jälkeen kokoillan draamaelokuva päätyy äänimiksattavaksi Sound Reelille.

Elokuvan ensi-ilta on perjantaina 5. maaliskuuta elokuvateatteri Studio123:ssa.

Fill-in filmings in Pilkan koulu at All Sain'ts day!

Yesterday we had fill-in filmings. Though the movie is in its editing progress, we realized we needed scenes from Mika's childhood, him with his dad etc..

So on 31st of october we held filmings in Pilkan koulu, Kuusankoski, where all the little Mika's school scenes would take place. The whole place was beyond we could've imagine! Every bit and piece of that school was just like it was meant to be in our movie. Pilkan koulu is a very beautiful building originally serving as a war hospital.

At 8Am, crew members gathered together to prepare themselves for the day, and at 9Am sixteen 10-13 years old kids join us, with Satu Taalikainen (playing teacher) and the Family Niemelä (dad playing dad of child Mika and dad's son playing child Mika. Clever huh?). The day was wrapped at 5pm.

We want to thank Satu Taalikainen, who played the role of teacher more than well, Henri Niemelä, who played the role of Mika's dad, and especially Tom Niemelä, who had the honor to play child version of Mika. And Riku Antikainen, who played the part of school kid well. Thank you all!

And special thanks to child extras, that played Mika's schoolfriends, and spent their holiday filming with us. Thank you, without you there would not be these beautiful scenes!

Eli hieman updatea siitä, mitä tuotannossa on tapahtunut menneellä kuukaudella...

Ilkka, eli minä Mikan näyttelijä, elokuvan apulaisohjaaja ja käsikirjoittaja, olen astunut armeijan harmaisiin. Suoritan jokamiehen velvollisuuttani leikkien sotaa Karjalan Prikaatissa, Vekaranjärvellä. Toivoen, että tämä nakki kestäisi puoli vuotta. Hopefully.

Armeijassa olo ei kuitenkaan vaikuta elokuvaan juuri milläänlailla, sillä kuvaukset ovat jo päättyneet (eikä niitä voisi muutenkaan suorittaa, sillä kuka haluaisi nähdä päähenkilön vaihtavan kesken kohtauksen tukkatyyliä pitkästä siiliin???), ja raina lepäilee autuaana ohjaajan leikkauspöydällä. Joitakin ääniä pitää vielä äänitellä, musiikkeja löytää ja näin edespäin.

Teemu, eli työteliäs ohjaajamme, on paininut niska limassa editoiden tätä tulevaa mestariteosta ja box-officien valtaajaa, jopa traileria yritettiin kyhäillä, mutta päätimme ettei sillä ole kiire. Nyt keskitytään siis vain olennaiseen.

Ja nyt niitä hyviä uutisia.

Saimme ilmaisen ilmakuvauslennon tälle kuukaudelle, mikä mahdollistaa siis elokuvaan otoksia ilmasta käsin. Sillä elokuva on puolipuhdas roadtriptarina, kuvaamme luonnollisesti Mikan ja Annien kaaraa valtatiellä ilmasta, ja saamme myös mukavia maisemakuvia, joita on yleensä vain majorelokuvissa. Sillä tällaiset lennothan maksavat. Olemmekin todella onnellisia, että saimme solmittua yhteistyösopimuksen Utin lento OY:n kanssa. Tämä oli jotain, mistä osasimme vain haaveilla.

Lisäksi elokuvan ensi-ilta paikka on nyt tiedossa. Ensi-ilta tullaan pitämään tämän vuoden joulukuussa Kouvolan Kuusankosken Studio 123 -elokuvateatterissa. Ensi-illasta tulee oikein hieno! Kaiken kukkuraksi elokuvateatteri ottaa "The Beautiful Road to Albinbam" -elokuvan ensi-illan jälkeen viikoksi omaan ohjelmistoonsa, mikä on enemmän kuin huippujuttu ja hyvä startti indie-elokuvalle. Elokuvan on tuottanut kouvolalainen ammattimaiseen elokuvatuotantoon tähtäävä harrastelijaryhmä Inspiration Films. Ohjaajana toimii Teemu Villikka. Elokuva on tekijöidensä ensimmäinen.

FINAL days of filming

<---Our car filled with stuff we needed in our locations. We are this PRO!!!!
So this is it. Yesterday we had our LAST day of filming, and it's quite hard to realize that we are now officially done with it. I have to say it's kinda sad, it's like letting go of something you thought would never end. I have really mixed and bittersweet feelings, because at the same time I was relieved when it was over, and then I felt like it should never end. For real, we've had a blast with filming, and last summer when we filmed almost the whole movie, I didn't know that my mind would picture the whole experience as one of my life's best summers! And yeah, last summer was the best, it was hard, but i think that made it the best.

We had to made some final changes to the script, because our original ending was too major-film-type -of thing. We just didn't have any money to make it happen, but instead, we figured it out, and came up to this amazing idea of an ending, that will be at LEAST as good as the original, and still it looks major and realistic.

I think i've lost track on how many times we've had to change things while we were filming our baby. A LOT! As a moviemaker, you can always TRY to write the final script, but nothing's really final before movie comes out and is completely done and edited. That's just the way it goes.

So, I personally just wanted to come here and tell you guys FINALLY that.................................................................................................................................................:

With no kidding, Teemu and I just drove in the middle of nowhere, trying to find a place for our ending scene. So we needed a place for Mika's letterbox, and found this gorgeous looking farm-side area, and we just decided to fake it was Mika's homestreet, and we set the letterbox to the ground, and for real i guess it was someone's property, but who cares, we are aspiring moviemakers, and duh, who DOESN'T want to be a part of the next biggest blockbuster of all time? :D This is true indiespirit!

A few words from director

Hello all!
It has been a long pause with filming, editing etc. because I´ve been half an year in a military service. And now I´m glad to say that tomorrow we start filming the last final scenes and The film WILL come out in this autumn.
I´ll reveal the date of the premiere later ;)

So this was an announcement that you´ll know we are about to finish our movie. Cheers!

So, sorry for not writing anything here for a long time, we've been busy. But here's some updates on what has happened since our last post here:

* Teemu is editing the shit, and THE premiere, that was going to be in January, is now going to be in summer at some point. Teemu is going to army, and since he's our only editor, we're going to face some serious times editingwise. Hopefully we will have the final version next summer.

So, some updates again. Today has been a rainy day, which doesn't bother us at all, because we have interior scenes to film tonight. We'll start filming inside the Citymarket (Finnish grocery mall) at 9 pm, which will be after closing. We will shoot the scenes where Annie and Mika are spending one night in the mall. So like i said, we don't care if it's rainy, as long as it's sunny when we start filming outiside scenes again;)

But yeah, we are all very excited for this day, especially since we have a permission to film there (Citymarket) tonight. It's like a dream come true to all of us i guess.

What else....hmmmpp...Last day of shooting went well, it was a scene where Mika and Annie are having serious (and not so serious) conversations. Unfortunately some of our footages were too blurry from the fire (yeah, they were having a bonfire -scene, you'll see it), which means we have to re-shoot that part of the scene. It really sucks, but we don't want it to look crappy but like we've done the best we can. And that didn't look like it:D The other parts were, according to Teemu our director, perfect and well shot. We believe him.

Other than that, this week we have another night to spend in Citymarket, also one whole day to film in Helsinki and some other thingies. Keep tuned, and thanks for reading the blog. We have to go to prepare ourselves for tonight:-)

Updates on filming

Hi guys,
Filming so far has been good, unfortunately we have had quite a few cloudy days, which has made our trip across sunny Finland not so sunny. It's still early on though, and we are sure we will get the weather we need eventually. Yesterday was perfect.

As far as the actual filming, we began on June 2nd, and simply put, there were several first day difficulties... Luckily though, they are all fixable, and from that day forward we have been making excellent progress. Each day gets more and more exciting and looks more and more perfect. It's a delight to watch the footage at the end of the filming day, and watch how Albinbam comes alive on the screen. We certainly believe that this movie is fulfilling the dreams we had when we wrote the script.

Of course, everything is in the early stages (we have not yet been filming a week)... BUT we have already created some amazing stuff, and hilarious memories we will keep with us always.

I think it would be a good idea to give you a few high-lights of things that have happened behind the scenes these past few days....

1. On the first day of filming, Ilkka shut my hand in the car door..... He CLAIMS it was not on purpose. Then, I got him back the next day by ACCIDENTALLY hitting him and bruising above his eyebrow.. oops.

2. we had to use garbage bags to make the room "dark" like an American morning... and they kept falling down...

3. During the gas-station scene, I couldn't stop flinging the mascara around and dropping it..

4. Teemu likes film without telling us he's going to be filming.. he films breaks and time before filming... and he now has enough footage of me and Ilkka being silly to create our very own reality Tv show...

5. During the scene where Mika reads his poem to Annie, I had to lay with my head on Ilkka's lap.. which wouldn't have been a problem if we weren't in tall grass and I in a skirt.. The terrible bugs kept crawling up my legs while I had to pretend I was so peaceful and happy about being there....

I think that is about it for now. This is really coming together well and I already can't wait to see the finished product.

Yeah, we're living some serious times here guys. It's only 2 weeks and then this thing is going to start. I should say we are happy about it, but we are all stressed because we need to get things done before we start filming. But ofcourse we're excited to see our "baby" coming to light. Like the title says, Tasha (playing Annie) is going to be here at 25th of May, and I'm happy about it, then we can practice and prepare ourselves with her. It's about 1 or 2 weeks when me and Teemu went to see filming locations, and they are pretty if i can say so. Here's some eyecandy for ya all. It's going to be albinbabulous! Project starts! Welcome to Albinbam!

Since this project is still under preproduction, we moviemakers can't really say a thing. But we are happy to announce that this website is now open to public to view the latest news and behind the scenes -looks of Inspiration Productions' independent movie "The Beautiful Road to Albinbam".

"The Beautiful Road to Albinbam" -movie takes place in Finland, where American hitch-hiker girl Annie and restless Finnish boy Mika meet, and soon as they have met they start their journey, a roadtrip without destination across the sunny Finland. During the roadtrip they both escape their pasts and find soulmates from each other. But they both have real lives to face, and they know it has to end at some point. But when? What if they have found the happiness for good? Will they lose it if they go back? Seeking your happiness is the best thing you can do!

Annie's part will be played by talented American actor "Tasha Ladwig" and Mika's part is played by Finnish actor "Ilkka Hamalainen".
